Heraclio Alfaro

Tour of the Vinos Heraclio winery in the vineyard and tasting.

If someone does not know Heraclio Alfaro, they will end up relating him as soon as they arrive with the original building of the winery and with the “Alfaro” exhibited after entering the garden.

So begins the visit to Compañía de Vinos Heraclio, in the vineyard itself, where we will start talking about the native varieties and traditional viticulture, mirror in which the winery looks to make their wines. A tour of the interior, in what could be considered a boutique winery, shows us the care with which this elaboration is carried out.

Before starting with the wine tasting, we will taste the oil produced with the Arbequina variety olives that grow in the olive trees of the estate, an olive oil of superior category and organic farming that also bears the name of the winery. And finally, it is time for the tasting of Heraclio Alfaro and Finca Estarijo, two very different wines, which give prominence to grapes such as Graciano and Garnacha, and which will be accompanied by an aperitif.

How to get there

Compañía de Vinos Heraclio Alfaro is located in the heart of the Eastern Rioja, where we find the building that gives us a hint of what has been this place and what has inspired its name. Surrounding the building is Finca Estarijo, perhaps the most important part, with an extension of 110 hectares, where the vineyard is planted, but also fruit and olive trees. Thus begins the experience at Heraclio Alfaro.
